So Keith had a dream, in which he heard a song.  He woke up, rolled to his bedside table, and immediately hummed it into his phone before he forgot it.  He then hummed it to me, and over the past few weeks, I’ve turned it into a full song.  It’s about love… sad, sad love.  I think fans of “Hidden By Blue” will feel it, even though it has a completely different vibe overall. Look for a song called “Past Tense” in our next release.

And there are 3 or 4 other songs in the works that have a powerful, pungent aroma to them (in a good way), coming sometime this year.  The quest continues…

  1. Sounds good. I’ve always liked “Hidden By Blue” so I’m excited. Are you going to release another single next or are you waiting until you release the next album?

    • Well, what we plan and what actually happens never seem to be the same thing! What usually happens is we just follow the songs. They tell us what to do. We may have ten, and think we’re going to release an album in a week, and then we realize half the songs are crap. Maybe an EP makes sense then, or maybe we’ll keep mining for five more songs.

Right now we have about 4 or 5 songs that are really strong, but Keith still has to write lyrics for a lot of it, and I have a ton of work to do on the production. I get super antsy when we haven’t released anything for awhile, but I don’t want to do another one-off song, I like EPs or albums. (Even though everybody says nobody listens to albums anymore; I’m old-skool.)

I wish we could be more prolific, but these days, we only get to spend like an hour a week together. Keith is going through an intense kung fu training regimen, and I’ve got a 9-month-old miniature human to handle. Our passion level is the same, we just have to route around more obstacles than usual!
